Categories

"Categories" are characteristics of an address as opposed to a "label." Whereas a "label" gives information about the controller of an address, "categories" give information about the usage of an address.

E.g. If you are looking for transactions involving centralized exchanges (a specific use), as opposed to a specific centralized exchange (e.g. Binance), the "categories" field would be more appropriate.

Narrowing Down Search Categories

When searching for specific categories, use semicolons “;;” to add more possible categories, to narrow down your query results.

E.g. If you are querying addresses related to Binance, and possible hacking, the search query would be: “binance ;; hackers” (without the quotation marks).

Don’t forget to leave a space before and after the semicolons.
