# DIMENSIONS

ChainArgos is compatible with Google Cloud's Looker. In Looker, a "DIMENSION" is a "groupable field" and is used to filter query results. It can be:

* an attribute, which is directly associated to the column in an underlying table;
* a fact or numerical value; or
* a derived value, computed based on the values of other fields in a single row.

A "DIMENSION" can be either an attribute described by text, or a numerical value (e.g. number of days).

#### Examples of "DIMENSIONS"

For example, "DIMENSIONS" for "Block Times" might narrow down the time frame investigated to "Block Written Date" such as "Hour."

"DIMENSIONS" for "Categories" might narrow down the query to certain wallet tag types like "cex" or "dex."

"DIMENSIONS" for "Address" might narrow down the query investigated to a specific or group of addresses.

"DIMENSIONS" "Amount" might narrow down the query investigated to the total number of tokens associated with this transaction.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.chainargos.com/documentation/concepts/dimensions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
