Deployers

At inception, a freshly created blockchain address will not contain any cryptocurrencies or other digital assets with which gas could be paid. Thus, for a smart contract to be deployed on a blockchain network, either a blockchain address that already possesses cryptocurrencies must be used, or cryptocurrencies must be sent to a freshly created blockchain address, and that freshly created blockchain address would be used to deploy the smart contract.

The requirement to pay gas for the deployment of a smart contract provides key information as to which blockchain address ultimately funded the deployment of a smart contract on a blockchain network, and allows for:

  1. the identification of some of the owners or developers blockchain addresses associated with those smart contracts; and

  2. proving that different smart contracts were actually developed by the same person or team.
